PICTOGRAMS OF CONTEMPORARY SOCIETY
Plasticbag womens 1 / 215 x 150 cm / acrylic, airbrush on canvas / 2011.
The project consists of ten works in large format, all painted in 2011. They were all made in acrylic paint and airbrush on canvas. The painter felt the need to transform, link together, and expand a series of drawings in a new medium. The motif in the paintings is human figure: female nudes, some of them dressed in sadomasochist and latex clothes or sexy lingerie. The topic is fetishism and taboos, such as homosexualism and sadomasochism.
The style is hyper realistic, photorealistic and surrealistic. The background is simple and monochromatic, in which the choice of lively colors leads to an interesting result: sadomasochistic scenes in the paintings become pleasant images.
The paintings insist on open-mindedness, explanation and acceptance of taboos in contemporary society which, therefore, are no longer regarded as such, since this is the only way of solving the problem of masochism in our life.
